Hello guys,

I would like to ask you if you can help me with this? I'm recording some sounds from 2KXL to Cubase LE4, but there I can move my loops only for one bar. For example from 1.1.1. to 2.1.1. But I would like to move snares at 1.2.1 and it's not working, it's aligned to 1.1.1. or 2.1.1..

Sure I can move it to the cursor position by command + L, but I don't want to waste time with that if I have several tracks in the song.

By the way if somebody can give me an advice on how to record MPC's sound into Cubase "automatically" via Cubase record button - it would be great.

Thanks.

I forget how to turn off the snapping ... look around, there should be a button for it. It's been a while since I used cubase though... you should have the option to even change it to several of the usual timing intervals (1/2 beat, etc...)

Yep, & if you want to be able to move the material to an even finer depth, set the grid to a higher number...ie: 1/32, 1/64 etc.

And to auto record, you'll have to activate the "L" & "R" symbols on the transport bar and set the points in the measures where you want recording to start & finish.

And also make sure whatever track you want to record is in record ready mode too.

Just to add...

If you set up your left and right arrow keys to "nudge", you can save yourself a lot of hassle trying to align everything with the mouse.

With "Bars + Beats" selected in the timeline you get the standard options of "Bar", "Beat" and "Use Quantize" under the symbol at the top that looks like a train track. You can then nudge by your chosen setting.

All good... BUT, if you set the timeline to "seconds" you have the option to nudge from between 1ms and 1000ms using the same method.

It's amazing how many seasoned Cubase heads don't know of this trick, but it's the simplest way of aligning your tracks if the timing has gone astray.

No more tracking with empty bars and single snare hits is required once you use this method.

Thank you, from bars to beats helped :).

Anyway, is there some method that Cubase will not record in the real time unless it "hears" some sound? I'm sick of finding the very very first cut in waveform.

Or can it be done through Midi signal, right? I would love to have that function on. But it's really hard for me to set it up.

Shall I use both Midi In & Out in the MPC? Sync it both In & Out for Midi clock and then I don't know nothing :(.

Changing the audio driver will do wonders for what you're asking. You may need to get schooled on more of the concepts of how the program functions.

Usually there's three drivers to select from in the vst audio bay. You'll also see how many milliseconds each driver produces. The lower the number, the less latency you'll experience.

In most cases, the driver based on the specific audio card you're using is the one that will give you the lowest latency.

Just install ASIO4All and you're good to go. It's free and you can have low latency on crappy audio interfaces.....

Damn,

I finally got that through MIDI. So after pressing Start and Play in Cubase, the MPC started automatically. I wanted this function for years now, great.

Can't imagine what I would do without this forum. Thank you guys!
