How Do Most of You Guys Make Your Basslines?

USUALLY as it may go down...

i MUST create some kind of bassline with the sample, by ear and it takes a minute (im 10 years into teaching myself music and piano, so im doing good for where im at... if only youtube was around in 1999 lol)

damn the computers in their days today lol... its made my life easier but damn that authentic sound...

ALSO (to give more to OP in this thread)

if i DO find the bass note of what im sampling to make a nice bass line with... i will also experiment with setting the pitch bend of whatever im using to some more extreme settings, then pitch shifting the whole beat as i turn the slider on my keyboard... can make cool breaks and fx this way, if your able to choose from controlling just a single track or the whole beat

Any recomendations on disc's to get for the ASR10 in regards to bassline's? or do you mainly just use the ASR to sample basslines? I got a few off of Syntaur....they were nice, but nothing really sparked my interest

Any major difference apart from the keys?

^^^nope, theres a polyphonic chain setup added to the master menu (if you have a lil phatty already, or multiple slims) and the lfo rate and amount buttons have added functionality while being held down, thats about it from what Ive learned so far. (Ive only had it for a few weeks.) All the updates to the slim are usually added to the little phatty.

Ah k. Might sell mine off and get the slim instead for extra space and more keys.
