Guess the pre-release badging on these was fairly common then. Notice the OS version in the pics? Wonder how that bad boy runs...

HAHA...I'm a little hungover http://cgi.ebay.com/Akai-MPC3500-like-MPC5000-Drum-Machine-Beats-Sampler-/130518157234?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item1e637d07b2#ht_500wt_1156

Sorry about that...

Your troll needs work. Try being a little more subtle and then really ramping up once people start to get worked up. You gotta finesse it man. This one gets 2/10.

I don't know why they even changed the name. The 3500 was pretty apt.

Yeah but i guess, like you say, marketing it as the 3500 would suggest it was inferior to the 4000, which i believe many would say, it is.

The 5000 has nothing to do with the 4000 or any model before that. It;s a new line! Accept it!

Is the 500 superior to the MPC60? Is the 2500 worse then the 3000?

You're comparing classics to new models. Is a '69 Camaro better than a 2011 Camaro?

I was just referring to the numbers.

The 500, 1000 and up are the new line. Otherwise the new number would start from 4000 and up. Every classic MPC released was a update from the previous. The 2500 is not an update from the 2000 nor is the 5000 an update from the 4000 or would the 3500 be a lesser MPC then the 4000. So the new generation has nothing to do with the classics. It's just marketing.
