Compact Flash Question!

Hi guys today i bought the kingston 4 gb CF. Also i bought the ebook 'beatmaking on the mpc 2500' , now i follow the steps on the ebook and they tell me to copy the given samples on the cf card but here's the problem where do i stick the cf card on my pc? or do i need to buy a usb cf card reader? or are there alternatives? i am completly new with a mpc.

USB. Its in the manual. And yes, a CF reader for the PC is another option. Be cautious when removing the card from the 1k, bent pins are a frequent issue with the poorly designed card slot.

oke and what cable would that be ? i already bought that cf card so wouldnt it be easier to only buy that cf card reader?

You're not making sense.

If you want to save your beats, samples, whatever you make on the MPC, you need a CF card OR a hard disk. OR both, if you wish.

If you want to make backups of what you've saved, you need an USB cable OR a card reader. OR both, if you wish.

It's good to have options, you see. But it is up to you to decide what you ultimately _need_, except for one thing: you need to read the manual.

Buy the CF Card reader. Then save the files to your CF Card. Then put the card in your 2500 and load them when the book tells you to.

Oke thanks and if i want to buy the usb cable for mpc to pc what's the precise name of the cable so i can order it ?

you need an usb cable with a type "a" connector on one end and a type "b" connector on the other end. if you have a usb printer at your house chances are you´ve got the right cable lying around somewhere.

do yourself a favour and try to figure out such simple questions on yourself or else nobody wants to help you when the "real" questions arise. i also fear that you will have big problems using a complex device like a mpc if you are actually challenged to find the right cables.
