DO I HAVE TO TYPE IN CAPITAL LETTERS SO YALL STOP BUSTING YOUR HEADS OVER THIS SHIT ? NEED A POWER SUPPLY TO OPERATE IN STANDALONE MODE, THEN YOU CAN USE 5 PIN MIDI CONNECTOR TO CONTROL YOUR HARDWARE. THIS WAS THE CASE FOR TRIGGER FINGER(NOT AKAI), SEEMS TO BE THE CASE FOR MPD24 SO I DOUBT IS ANY DIFFERENT FOR MPD18
The unit is bus powered and uses USB for MIDI in / out, but there are normal five-pin MIDI IN and OUT connectors – meaning you can use the MPD-24 as a MIDI interface for other equipment or as a controller in stand-alone mode (power supply required – not supplied).
