Technical questions for the MPC2000xl and the MPC2000

Hi!I have my mpc for almost a year now and i'm checking out this forum few months now.i own a 2kxl, an alesis multimix12 audio interface, i use logic 9 and i also have a m-audio axiom pro as a midi interface. The 8-outs from my mpc are hooked up to 8 line ins of the alesis.I arrange my sequences into the mpc nad then i record them into logic via the 8 outs.so far so good. What i'm trying to do now is to arrange my beat straight into logic via midi! But i'm having headaches!!!Till now the closest i've come to that is recording the midi signal into logic via the mpc (which is hooked up also to the m-audio keys via MIDI and the last is hooked up to the mac via usb), then playing it back but hearing nothing although the midi signal is recorded!!!Please help me out if you can and sorry for my english! Thanks

Midi is not audio.

Midi is not 'your beat'.

Midi is just a small message that says 'play this sound at this time....i don't care what the sound is'.

What do you want the midi to do?

It has to trigger something.

If you want the midi to make sound, then you need to record it once in logic, then send that same midi back out to your mpc on playback, because the sounds are in your mpc.

Why do you want to record the midi?

Thanx for the reply.Yes, i know that midi carries only info and the sounds are in my mpc.I just want to play and record each sound on midi tracks in logic and then logic trigger these sounds from the mpc!i think i have tried everything about settings and stuff but still i get no sound although the midi info is recorded
