Why are my records getting scratched

I have a numark ttx 1 with arkiv needle. The S tone arm got bent down but I bent it back pretty perfectly straight. I just started with vinyl so I cant tell you that it was working fine before I bent the arm. I just know the record I was sampling was fine one day. Actually I wasnt sampling it. I was just playing it at different pitches and practicing drums too it live on the MPC.

I may have reversed it a few times but I most picked up the needle and place it back in the right spot on the record.

I guess my question is has any of yall had issues with your records getting scratched from either the type of needle your using(Because I know the Arkiv is supposed to be for sound quality and not scratching) or because of wrong angle of your needle on the record(maybe cause my tone arm is bent aliitle)?

If your had this issue what was the problem?

And where can I get a new tone arm for cheap?

Finally the rst for the tone arm when all the way up still lets the needle touch the record. I dont know why cause nothing is broken on it. Anyone had this problem with the TTX 1s?

If you know a DJ, let him look at the problem. I had an issue when I bought a few Shure needles that wouldn't align right with the headshell everytime I try to install them. The needle would be at a slight angle and because of that, I wasn't getting the full spectrum of the sound. Top it off the plastic part of the cartridge was getting in contact with the vinyl and I wasn't having it. It pissed me off because by looks, everything appeared fine but upon deep observation it was crooked. So I called my brother, who is a turntablist since the age of 6, and it was dope to watch him work, he even scolded me on the tools I used, he busted out a small pouch with these minature tools and hooked up the cartridge. The problem was that one screw was slightly longer than the other causing that misalignment. He put a washer to one screw and that was it.

Are you sure that the weight on the tonearm is adjusted correctly??

Not saying that the scratching has come from you reversing the record, but when it comes to elliptical needles you absolutely mustn't do this. It will wear out your record fast.

What are your tonearm & anti skate settings? Have you performed the anti skate test? Are you using the correct weight for the cartridge?

Also you say that your records are getting scratched, but are these scratches happening at the same points in the audio each playback? Or are they random and at different points each time?

The point I'm making is whether it's the vinyl that's the problem, or the playback equipment? This doesn't rule out the fact that the equipment could be ruining the vinyl though.

Yes they skip on the same point and you can see the groove. The needle is a ortofon style not like the old shure with 4 screws. Yall know what I mean.And the weight is setti according to the needles weight on the Ortofon website. So basically I can only assume the arm is slightly off cause of it being bent.

Anyone know where to get a replacement for cheap? Or maybe someone has one to sell. I need the S shaped.
