You describe it as being "fully customed"? How is that fully customed if it comes like that stock from Akai?

Just saying.

oh shit, i haven't seen you around for a minute.

also, yeah I agree with the second edition or LE versions and people calling them custom. customed means you have them altered or "customized" to fit your style or taste.... out the box or stock from the company is just that unless they made it to your taste like choosing your colours for dunks when nike did that online... not sure if they still do.

i am looking forward to seeing more pics with the black screens... my guess is they are inverted but the stock pic kind of doesn't look like that.

I just got done plasti-dipping my buttons. Previously I had painted them but really didn't like the slippery feel of them. The plasti-dip gives them a nice rubber grip feel to them which is nice. Also, the cool thing about plasti-dip is that there is no prep work involved other than making sure the area is clean. It goes on extremely even, and if you don't like it, you can peel it right off like a sticker.
If anyone's looking to paint their buttons I would highly reccomend this stuff.

i just got this in last week, very excited about it. didnt do any of the customization myself, ordered it from the guy at 16squarez. i got him to put all black buttons and white knobs, and i got all the led's blue along with the screen. i think it looks real clean.
that plasti-dip stuff sounds dope! maybe if the paint is ever coming off of my buttons ill check that out.

Is this plasti-dip .. that same stuff used on rubber coating tool handles example: vise grips .. i think i seen it in a hardware store .. it comes in different colors .. how did you go about dipping the buttons into the "dip"? seems like it would be a messy job . But i must say you did a great job and they look clean as f%ck

That MPC is sinister right there! Nice find on that one. I love the blue leds. I was thinking about doing some leds but I am not that good at soldering.

As for the plasti-dip, I picked it up at Home Depot. They have the can of Plasti-Dip like what your thinking of, but they also carry it in a spray can. It's like 5 bucks.
