say you loop something then take another copy of the loop and use the low-end theory on it then layer it over the loop. Will that become an easy bass line.

It might work depending on what kind of loop you use, a filtered drum loop sounds less a bassline then for example a filtered piano loop.

Take that question to your mpc, I'm sure you'll get the answer that way!

if you got the mpc2000xl, you are gonna need to do more than filter sometimes.

You might have to take it into a wav editor and eq it somemore, etc. The filter on the 2xl pretty much just cuts off the top....so if there is very little low end, you are gonna have to boost the bottom with an eq.

you can try to sample it first with the bass boosted through your mixer. Then filter it. Loop it, etc. then take it to the computer and try to get it to sound like a bassline.

yeah, i agree. If it's a bassguitar, you might be able to pull it off without eq.

if you sample a loop that has a little bit of bass, sample one version of it wtih your bass down on the eq and sample one with the bass turned up, do the low end theory on the one with the bass turned up, if the loop is good and you did it right, it might sound good, I did it a couple times..
