ok iv got an mpc1000, and i have fl9 on my computer. How would i benefit from syncing them? sometimes i play stuff in fl9 and record direct into the mpc. and i record finished beats into fl9. would syncing them make these processes easier?

What os are you running? Did you do a search on this forum before posting this? I think that the best would be to sync FL as slave and MP as master, because the timing in the mpc is more "precise".

yeah i dont get along well with searches though. founf threads askin how to sync them but not why?! im running jjos1? not the free one but the 1st paid one.

how would syncing benefit me though? what can i do with my mpc synced to fl? would it make it easier to record melodies/basslines i create in FL to the mpc?

If you sync FL to MPC you are running at the exact same speed (in theory). And you can send MIDI messages back and fourth.

seen that video before. basically i want to hit record + play on FL9 and it record from my MPC. i dont have a soundcard with 6 inputs so will have to do one at a time. but what else can syncing with FL be used for?

you could use your mpc sort of like a pad controller for things in fl studio... also, you can use generators and other vst pluggins which would get sequenced by the 1000... essentially using fl as a mega sound module

Your work flow is F'ed up, and I'm advising u to keep it that way.

I find it provides more flavor when jumping back and forth between two sequencers. Especially how you're doing it, with just sampling. What you're doing is overall more work, but for some people (myself included) helps the creative process get to the next level.

Truth. I have spent too much time trying to get different sequences to work together perfectly and it's really a waste. Just accept that it's not gonna be smooth and perfect (and even if it was, it would be boring) and move on.

Anyway it's not as hard to sync stuff by ear as you think. And it's fun to think of tricks and workarounds.
