Mono recording

Hi All

Just wanted a little advice, I am recording all my sounds in mono so I can use the 8 outputs to have 8 tracks on my mixer. Now I know mono left would only come out of the left but on my mixing desk I can pan left or right and it will play out of one or the other.

What I am trying to say is can I record my beats in mono and record them in stereo somehow, because I want to utalise all 8 outs.

Ok that makes sense, it just when I come to record I am putting it from my mixing desk into my dj mixer and it is only coming out of the left? I will try stereo tonite and if it works I know what my problem is. Cheers
