the ability to BATCH COPY pads from one program to another. Copying pads one by one is a pain in the rear

not sure if it's in already, but would it be possible to make JJ OS read .txt files? ...

fist off i just wana say thanks for making such a good operating system jj! this os is very good! i look forward to getting way more in depth with it in the future and learning all of its intricacies.

i am using the jj os xl version 2.22 on an mpc 2500.

i think one thing that would make it a lot more user friendly would be to implement a moving cursor when in chop mode.
the feature that i am talking about about IS implmented initially when you push mode then trim before you push f5 (chop)

to see what i am talking about, load up a sample, go to mode, trim then hit pad 1 (or pretty much any pad for that matter) notice the moving cursor that scrolls along with the audio? this is the feature i would like implemented when you push f5 (chop)

right now, when you are in trim mode then push f5 (chop) the moving cursor dissapears from your highlighted areas.

i think it would be very beneficial for us to have the moving cursor in chop mode because when i am chopping my sample i initially try to find the end of one bar and loop the first bar. i have been finding myself blindly guessing where the correct loop point is by changing the End: 000xxxxx paramter.

ill use this as an example (kick/snare/kick/snare) <<<---- this would be my whole chop looping correctly. each beat is dictated by a "/" and the "(" and ")" represent my start and end points.

when i go to the chop screen from trim mode, i find myself having to adjust the End: 000xxxx parameter blindly because when i push the chop button initially, i find that i have to edit the points myself, and i find that the first bar isnt always a perfect loop. ill use this as an example.
the highlighted area may look something like this: (kick/snare/kick/snare/kick/snare/kick/) <---notice how there is 7 beats in this chop.

i find myself blindly moving the END: 0000xxxx parameter to where i think the waveform looks like it could be the 4th bar loop point and hoping for the best.
if the moving cursor was implemented into chop mode then i could visualize where the waveform turns from the 4th bar whilst i am holding down the pad. this feature would let me pinpoint the area of my new endpoint alot quicker than i can now.

i did take into consideration that you can push pad 8 (or 12?) and the mpc will play the end of your selection to the beginning of the new chop, which works very well to get you in the ballpark of your next chop, i find that it works best if the original chop is within a beat or 2 of the new one you want to create.
i think having a moving cursor could also greatly enhance this feature, especially if your original chop needed to be moved more than just a beat or two.

thanks alot!

Don't you need or don't you like the other chop mode (aka NDC)?

it's the ON/OFF thing on the top of the screen.
You can see the time bar moving while previewing the individual chops and freely adjust the start and end points.

i have tried it and dont like it as much, im gonna dig a little deeper into it today but i think that feature would still be dope in the "chop" portion of the screen

Hello,
i'd like to see a choosable grid when in trim mode which will kept visible when zooming in . ( Bars, 16th even better choosable up to 64th )
grid according to tempo set in mainwindow.
When still in trimmode tempo settable by external gear and also internal ( without leaving trimmode if possible) to adjust that grid to fit the sample.

Would love for SAVE screen to default to last saved position on HD or Memory card, and LOAD screen default to last load position.

At the moment when you hit load or save it takes you back to wherever last load OR Save was, not seperate for each screen.

Does this make sense to anyone?

Another request:

In STEP EDIT Screen, when you change VIEW to NOTES and have your cursor on ALL, it would be good to just hit a pad to change from ALL to that particular pad.

This works still on the free JJOS but not on JJOS2XL. a tiny but useful feature I miss.
