12 Levels Question

Ok, I've been researching this for a while and I can't find any sort of answer...

When using a sample in the 12 Levels function, what is the semitone ratio between levels? What I mean is, if Pad 5 is where I have my root sample, how many semitones higher is Pad 6, Pad 7, Pad 8, etc.

Another question that goes hand in hand with this is....Is there any way to change this ratio?

The step from one pad to the next is 1 semitone.

I haven't tried, put if you use the 12 Levels function for level instead of tuning and assign a certain percentage to velocity->pitch (and a value of zero to velocity->level so that you don't affect the level through the 12 Levels), you could get another ratio depending on the percentage value used for velocity->pitch.

That's actually a great idea.....I'll give it a try when I get off work.

By the way, the reason I'm asking is because I'd like to try moving around in two octaves of a scale with a sample instead of just one. If I can cut out all the semitones that don't fit the scale I'm playing in, I can add the next higher octave of the same scale....or at least some of it.

I don't know if you will be able to achieve to move in two octaves and exactly cut out specific semitones with that method. velocity->pitch won't span more than 1 octave I think. And it will be hard hitting exact semitones with the 12 levels for level where each pad has a fixed velocity which has to correspond with a tune depending on the velocity->pitch percentage.
