Is this a memory issue, or a glitch? If I remove the memory card and boot it, it gives me 9 seconds as opposed to 2 seconds with the card loaded.

If it is a memory issue, is there a way I can *unload* samples such as the original MPC samples, and any of the samples I think are total trash? I'm guessing this will give me more time to record.

Any other ideas -- completely welcome.

Just as an added note, I think this also has to do with why my sequences can not have an end time greater than 3 seconds. Or again, maybe I'm missing some easy to find button that allows you to up the time past 3 seconds.

any ideas?

In my memory card slot is a 128mb card.

to me that suggests there's an AUTOLOAD folder on the card. check the manual for how to disable autoload, or remove files from that folder

this means there is something loaded sample wise when starting up. i.e. Autoload. When you turn on MPC are there samples loaded? if yes then you have it autoloading these files
