Can anyone let me know if this is bug or oversight 8)

I change pads midi note so i can play bassline to synth. Usually in drum mode and then change track to MIDI.....Basslin stays the same as program of midi note assignment is remembered, untill i turn it off. I tried system settings but this does not remember pad midi note setup. JJOSXL on mpc1000 yeah.
Anyone else do this and have same problem??? I reload song next day and its all wrong and have to change pads accordingly.

thanks mate.... Well to answer your question... I usually set up scales that fit song and also bass lines can go over more than 1 octave right, so i set up pads to do this. Very usefull for playing complicated stuff live to synth. weird as im sure i have done this before and it remembered note assign to the pads, or at least ignored pad assign when in track is set to MIDI.
So really i want every song to have its own scales set up that suit what ever im playing. Kinda stops wrong notes to and makes it idiot proof to play along.
Yeah so i load a song and its different to what i saved even if its a midi track, so is there a way to save this or turn off this auto midi note assign. Whats the point of being able to change note assign if it cant be saved. so to me it seems a bug, but not sure..should i request this, my memory aint so great and i have used this workflow method for sometime but i think i only have had this problem since last update....

makes it idiot proof to play along.

most geniuses are idiots who have figured out this strategy. right on.
are you using a laptop/daw in your setup? if so, i have a good solution for you.

i like your idea of having a different scale setup for each song so that you can jam along and everything stays in key.

i definitely think that the pad setup is something that should be saveable. i would request this from JJ. perhaps the assignment could be saved as part of the PROGRAM file so not only would it be saved with your song, but you could also have a different assignment on each track if you wanted to (by assigning a different PROGRAM to each track).

:D hey thanks everyone for there two cents, thats why i like commin here. I have loaded older projects today...just some fat 8 bar dub stuff and it has different pad midi note assigns. I had an idea then that I have made a simple mistake.

Maybe setting up my pad midi note assignments I did it with main screen program set to  OFF

This might be what i did differently so it has no program to save it to so it defaults to normal midi note assign. i can change programs and midi changes as pernote I assign. nifty as you can do multiple sets of these. Theres been a couple of WTF moments with JJOSXL but its all good. it happens
