I would at least try to midi the two before you sell the 1000.The machines together with jjos would be a
beast of a set up.That is if you can afford it.Peace TYPO

Thanks for all your help, I def could keep both and yeah I know that means a lot of outputs but I just have 8 inputs on my digi003, so I just need the 8 outputs that the 2500 has already... I don't know if I'm missing something but what the hell is going on with the prices of the MPCs? they are mad cheap lately... I just saw on Ebay an MPC 4K being sold for $555 and a MPC 5K for $1050, some 2K for less than $200, 1K for less than $350... WTF?! I remember when you couldn't find a used MPC1K for less than $700 and that was not that far ago...
Nowadays I don't have too much time for making beats like before, but I try at least to make 1 or 2 beats weekly... I have to much work but still needing my dose of beats... I'm working on a project that I'm calling it Low Budget/Lo-Fi series... this is a series of EPs (5 to 6 tracks with different MCs around the world) all beats produced by me but using only the SP-505, I love that machine, simple but complex at the same time... you can make mad shit on it... I'm sampling everything on lo-fi quality and that warm sound that this machine has it is amazing... I def love that machine... I used to have the 303 but damn... it was hard to learn how to use it and you had to have a good memory to remember everything if you didn't touch it in a while because you don't have an screen or menus where to read what's going on... but I learn a lot with that machine, mainly how to chop using only my ears, etc... cool machine for sure... but the 505 has the same sound and a display so... DOPEx2 lol... def exactly what I was needing...
I don't want to keep my 1K and then maybe I want to sell it in a couple months and prices are lower than what it is now... that would suck! If I can't sell it for a "good" price I prefer to keep it instead... even if just collect dust on my studio... I prefer having the 1K ready for me when ever I need it collecting dust than selling it for couple hundreds...
Anyways... whats wrong with MPCs? why they are so cheap now? I missed something? ???

It's more likely due to the economy as well as there being more options these days with software, controllers, etc.
Also keep in mind, I've seen TONS of fake MPC auctions on ebay over the years. I don't know if the problem is still there, since I haven't looked. But I'm willing to head over to ebay to see whats up.

Nothing too out of the ordinary on ebay. A lot of people are most likely steering clear of the blue 1k's because of the pads, so those particular models will end up being $200 cheaper in most cases. Everything else is subject to having bad displays, broken parts, and also last minute bid sniping. So it's business as usual. Not sure about any scams. I don't feel like digging in any further.

Take a guess why the price has dropped.

I think it is more because the economy... anyways... I have a big issue in here...

In another note... I just received my 2500 on yesterday but my first impression is that I'm still in love with my 1K... did you guys using the 2500 think that the JJ OS XL it takes a little bit more time compared to previous versions to boot up or even to switch between windows? mine does and I don't know if its normal or what... I'm comparing this with the 1K with JJ OS1 and the 1K it is much more faster so IDK how the 1K with JJ OS XL works... maybe it is the same and I'm thinking something is wrong with my 2500... it is not that BIG DELAY... but it is a couple more seconds to load and maybe 1 sec to switch between some windows (specially loading samplers and switching between drives)

What is your storage device on both units?
The start-up process and the SAVE/LOAD function can be longer if you have a hard drive or a slow CF.
