Just copped my first MPC this week, A reasonably good condition MPC2000 for learning purposes at first.
However. I'm getting some serious sound issues, as its really my first outing with an MPC I'm not sure if its a setup or a real internal hardware issue.
I have just a simple headphones out and 2 mono in setup from an amp/turntable or straight ipod in via Y cable.
When sat on the sample screen I get a low volume static/squelching noise that sounds almost like chopper blades getting infinitely louder and louder over the space of 20 seconds or so until I have hard-kill the unit for worry of damaging it or my phones. It seems to happen randomly, it can be there from startup or just suddenly appear even after an hour or more of normal use.
Would appreciate some help getting it sorted I don't really want to back the unit to the buyer and then find out its a cheap fix or just my lack of setup knowledge. Can give more details or even try to record the sound if necessary. Apologies that my first post is asking for help.
