just borrowed my mates 2kxl for a week to lace out some beats now i was wondering how do i get my samples to cut each other off when i hit the pads ive set them to mono i can get the first stab say on pad 1 and keep hittin it and it cuts the sound fine but if i switch from pad 1 - 2.. 1 is still playing till the end of its chop? i rememeber on the 2500 you just set the mute groups to 1 or something is there a way to do this on the xl or is it just buggin ? and is there a comprehensive guide on how to open these bad boys up and clean them this ones got sticky cursor keys and is really slowing down the workflow wanted to give them a clean possibly.

all help appreciated sorry if there dumb questions !

you know where you changed it to mono? well push the open window button there...

also, push open window on everything because almost everything in that machine has more parameters you can alter. for example, when trimming a sample and you are on the start or end point numbers... push open window to get a nice zoom in on the waveform.

there are no mute groups like you are used to... you can have a single pad mute two other ones... so you push the pad you want to have doing the muting... then jog wheel in the pad(s) you want to have muted.

the work around for your case would be... assign one of your samples to some pad in bank B or somewhere you aren't using (assign a sample you already made it doesn't matter which one) and in that new pad, turn the mixer down for it.. and make that one mute two more pads that require muting. then when recording the sequence... push the new silent pad when needed.

repeat the task until you got them all covered.
