MPC5000 reviews, bug reports and fellow user support on the most recent standalone, hardware MPC from Akai

No regrets here, but I agree with the previous posts about the changes in color temperature of the screen. Really, no excuse there Akai. Not good, but I can live with it.

The occasional lag in previewing programs/samples... luckily I'm a patient man... I'm wondering if a faster hard drive would solve this issue? Say a 7200 or 10000..? If that's even possible.

Anyway, back to work.

I have a SSD in it. Makes no different. The MPC can't process the fast R/W.

they didnt released them...verifying i guess.

they are similar or the same like discussed here at the forum:
.) pre listening in the load window + tapping delay freezes
.) maximum duration values set in the step window are leading to 0 settings after reloading the sequence
.) in step edit window the cursor freezes on the "view" field when playing. it does NOT when entering the step edit window in playing mode at the FIRST time. that means it should work to alter the view + pad values (right from "view") while the unit is playing.
.) my + many others displays are fading into purple on the right side.
) playing a very light sequence of maybe 6 drum sounds + speeding up the tempo to 250-300bpm....try it, everything gets stuck.

i get angry with such half working instruments. ithey are steeling time + money where i could do some usefull (music) stuff.
allone to get familary with 200 pages of possibilities needs days.
+ then you realize you cant trust this thing + have to go back to your old working tools..

found a "workarround" for the freesing cursor in step edit:
just hit the mode + tep edit button again (being in step window allready). the display doesnt change but it updates somehow + so the cursor can be moved again!!
huhh

how do you stop the screen following the curser in step/grid edit??
to manipulate some events while playing isnt possible..
+stopping the playback every time when inserting/deleting a note causes the curser frezzing after activating play again (in step mode).

this cant be meant like that..?!

so, a short double post to "clear" these egativ energy a little up:

i played arround with that machine the whole night, couldnt go to sleep, its simply FASCINATING!!
i slowly understand this kind of love relationship these guys here arround have. it has its spirit...simple os, very clear + direct, +: THE PADS!! THATS what its about i guess. the interaction with the machine...man machine...

lets use edit mode (step + grid) while playing (without window scrolling), let me use higher bpm comfortable..

i think thats it!!

i love it
