Dammit, I was working on some butter too.

I'll start from the top. Yesterday afternoon we had a little bad weather in my area. T'storms and heavy wind normally do a number on the grid near my home but nothing major. So I get off work and the damn lights are off. No biggie. Lights come on after about 30 mins or so. Babygirl starts whipping up my dinner and I crank up the 4k to start dicing up a few Roberta Flack samples. GOOD TIMES!

After dinner, the misses and I feel like going to the movies to catch the Hangover 2 flick. I left the MPC on while we were out because I've done it with all my MPC's. Nothing to odd. Get back (movie's good BTW) and the MPC is in good shape and I continue working out on the beat. I finally get everything straight for the night and save my work. NAPTIME!
I left the 4k on for the 4 1/2 hours I slept and I wake up and the damn thing is OFF! I saved my work so fvck it! But I remember not turning it off at that exact moment. I press play....NOTHING. I press the power button....NOTHING!

Sh!t just got real....

Did my PS blow? Please tell me there is a fuse in there I can replace.

Keep in mind that all my equipment is on surge protectors and grounded.

I don't expect leaving the machine on overnight and ish on a regular basis will prolong the life of the power supply circuitry.

I know lot's of people do it, but during stormy weather where you have power spikes and cuts is reaching a little...

Hopefully there's a blown fuse somewhere and that's it.

If you got enough memory to save the samples and everything, save and switch the machine off.

Maybe 'naptime' was a more interesting prospect at that point in time.

Anybody know the amperage and voltage of the fuse so I can pick one up after I get off the slaveship today?

well, I know there is a service manual floating around here somewhere... in fact one thread has download links to all of them except for the 5000

was gonna see that movie last night but after I saw the line I turned around in no time...

any unusual smell coming out the vents on the 4k ?

power supply is where I would start myself, grab a fluke meter and start probing. maybe something shorted in the outlet 4k was plugged into...have you tried connecting to a different outlet?

Everything else that was plugged into the same surge protector is on and yeah, I did swap the outlets.
