I wanted one when I first started beatmaking in like 98 or 99, I just never got it cause I felt it'd feel funny playing drum patterns on keys, I was gonna buy the asrx pro until the salesperson at GC showed me the mpc's sample editing where you can see the waveform and I was sold on it. Sometimes I get the urge to get an asr, but haven't given in to it yet. Whenever something is discontinued and people seek it, the price goes up. Look at sp1200's... expensive too! In my opinion the asr is worth every dollar, it's the most complete sampling workstation no matter how you hack it, it has a good sampler with variable sample rates, awesome filters, great effects, and a sequencer (although they do freeze up from time to time, it still has one). Has any of the asr owners had any problems sequencing external gear with their asr? I was curious...
