when i send it to the gov, are they gonna see that i havent cleared any samples? am i gonna get flowers by trying to copyright material thats already copywritten?

i think so..cauze over there in the states shits big over there. in holland u dont sell more then 10.000 copies, they dont care about that..and thats no joke. my friend droped hiz album last year and didnt clear shit..cauze the scene is too small here..and we talk dutch..not may people talk that u know im saying..englisch is worldwide..so the gonna sew u.. thatz whut i think....cauze cats pay mad do too clear a smple in the states..and i dont have the cash..so i keep it underground i print it blacklabel..and dont pay shit for clearance..

man u should be straight. i dont believe they listen to the cd. they just kinda store it off in the cut. send it off man cause the copyright process is a looooooooooooooooong process. that shiit takes like half a year for u to even hear back from them

Anyway, I agree with vakseen, they wont listen to it. I think that the only way you will get sued will be if/when , lets say a song blows up on the radio and the original artist hears that you are using his sH*t. Then you will have problems, however if it gets to that point, you "made it" anyway.

Nah dog, you're straight. Think about it---do you think they have the time, money, or manpower to pay someone to listen to every CD, read every book that's written, etc.?

They put a stamp on it, put it in a folder and file it away, and go back to being lazy, useless, government civil service workers.

very lazy may i add! them clowns lost the package i sent and only found 1 cd. they called me like a yr after i shipped to tell me this. on top of that, when i got my intial certificate of copyright it was someone elses name. they claim they switched this cats book and my musics' rights. talk about pissed!! AND claimed they could do nothing about all this!

when u ship it goes to an off site location to be checked for anthrax and shiit so thats what delays the process. apparently because its opened and resent, anything can happen to ur works

Yeah you'll be straight. In the event it did get radio airplay unless you have moved like 20000 units the record label won't even mess with you. On top of that unless your running Sound Scan bar codes they don't know how many you've pushed. I did my ish that way and I had a sample on every song, LOL.

They want your money and the fact is you sampled some things but rearranged that arrangement is what is copywritten so yes it will be granted.,,,

Only if and until a company like BMI hears your shit in a mainstream markett using there artist samples..(Bmi owns the samples Catalogs)
Now they want your copyrights taken away only if you wont work with them and give them money etc.

The theories of big names are nowadays..
You here your shit is sampled wait until that track becomces famous then they sue you for money you never owed them but you agree to keep the album on the shelves and everyne makes money..
