Sample layer crossfade

I can't see any use of the sample layer crossfade in program mode:

Any of you guys using it, and how? Perhaps it is just I that can't see the use of it?

No i dont use it. But might as I'm still only a few months with JJOSXL.
I think the key here is AFTERTOUCH !!!
so you know hit a pad sample sounds but aftertouch message would trigger second velocity layer and crossfade between. This is what it seems to me. If I'm wrong let me know

Yes it is, but it cant be used via MIDI which annoys me.

You can use it for the same sample chopped at different lengths,and then layer and set the depth on the
crossfade(example).Really endless what or you can do with crossfade layers.

Also I do not think it was ever intended to to be midi.
