I'm new to this forum and as a MPC1000 user. Does anyone know how to play a looped sample on a pad without having to keep holding the pad?
Thanks a lot

Thanks.
I guess as a last resort, I could make a sequence of the sample, but I'd like to just be able to use the sample itself.

Thanks for asking
Some of my samples are textural sounds that play through a song the way a drum beat would.
When I play live, I'm playing guitar and singing while occasionally manipulating the MPC. I don't always have a free hand to manually hold down the sample pad.

Okay, sounds intresting. Though I still don't fully get the advantage of not having to record .. :? Couldn't you just use the Track Mute screan?? Sorry if I'm missing the point...

I was looking to be able to not always engage the sequencer for every song, you know, just play pads manually so it has a more live feel. Though, I may end up using the sequencer in the end.

you could just trim this looped piece as a new sample, then assign it to a pad/ and finally turn the settings for this pad from note on to one shot)and no need of jj os

contrary to popular belief you can loop sample. Just hit sample and then Numeric. RTFM 8)

But I would still have to hold down the pad. I want to be able to press it once and let it go

I only have Akai OS not JJOS. Would that still work? If so, what mode should I be in to do that? I have both the akia manual and the beatmaking manual. Would you be able to direct me to this info in the manual? Thanks a lot for the input.
