All,
I am repairing one of these for an friend.
System boots fine, posts, and processes a memory check. After that, the fun begins. The system is fairly unusable. I can turn the POT and sometimes it will react instantly, sometimes not. ALL buttons are non functional. They do boot fine, and show lights.
Once the POT moves the menu, it seems to go into a memory dump of some sort. I can scroll through it, and see files within it. However, I cannot interact with any of them. At the bottom of the screen i see "SEQ", "RUN", "STEP" and "MEMORY". Again, I cannot interact with any of these.
Thinking this might be a bad memory issue, I removed them, and still the same error. I have tried unplugging peripherals to see if this is the cause to no avail.
Im a bit stumped at this point. I am leaning toward the ROM chip being bad, but I cannot verify this.
Keep in mind, its stripped down to basics, but nothing......
Any ideas out there?
