MPC5000 reviews, bug reports and fellow user support on the most recent standalone, hardware MPC from Akai

Hello,

I connected my Moog the Source synth to the left analog input on the back of the MPC5000. I turned the volume of the Moog all the way up...but even then, when trying to make a few samples I also had to turn the record level knob on the 5000 nearly all the way up to get a good recording level.

First I thought that maybe the Moog had a low output level so I also tried sampling from a Sony PCM D50 recorder...the same here...I have to turn the record level knob nearly to its maximum.

Is this normal?

I tried searching this forum first but could not find any suggestions.

Thanks for your help!

Best regards from Pieter.

yeah,
I wanted to route the outputs from the z8 back into the 5000....not possible..not enough gain.
Only when i crank everything up to max, (in the z8, multi, progs, master volume etc) its's just enough..
the other thing i did was assign a fx to the input, select a compressor and push the output gain
up to max, make sure your fx mix is set to 100%

On my machine: because it's buggy. My left input is about 22dB less loud than the right input (and yes, I've checked the cables etc..). Others have this too, so you might be one of us too.

well, i don't have this difference but soft it is......
did you try to compensate it with the compressor?
I only have the 5k for two weeks now but didn't work much on it yet.
I'm producing a record at the moment and use the mpc4000 for that!
why?
It sounds way better....
I'm gonna use the 5000 live, we do a lot of looping and i need the undo while playing function...
With the 4000 i have to play everything good at once...
