mpc1000, portamento with multi-samples not working?

it appears that portamento will only work within a range containing 1 sample if the following note is a different sample it doesn't work. or am i missing something?

no you are correct. it appears portamento is intended for programs with only 1 sample (pgms relying on the internal sample-synth). unfortunate but evidene that the mpc really shines as a oneshot sampler. INST pgms will do in a pinch but i would always reach for a VST or dedicated module first.

true. for some (sub)bass duties it can work fine though. pity about the portamento. can't have it all i guess.
