SCORED a Roland TR-808

I notice that some older Boss drum machines (Dr-55) use the same buttons (Tap) as the TR-808.

But first I'm going to try using a footswitch, see how that works out as a temporary measure.

Still haven't copped any of the parts I need.

don't take too long, man... i'm looking forward to those pics of the finished project...

i occasionally see 808 parts on eBay... usually shipped from china though.

Genuine 808 parts are rarer than 808's themselves.

And I need the 'start/ stop' and 'tap' buttons

I'll probably have to wait until I find someone parting out.

but hey, yours is physically good enough to use on projects though, right? That is one drum machine I wouldn't mind having.. good to hear you are fixing her up the proper way (genuine components)... shit is like vintage cars almost.. keep it original.

supposedly they give the best head ever so it shouldnt be all that bad

Yeah their communication aint that good. None of the items ship from the states as listed. But I had absolutely no problem at all when the sliders and pots for my MC-202 arrived. Wish I still had that and my TR-606.

But anyway, give them a try Clint. Just don't buy any x0xb0x machines from them. They got a bad rep for that over in the x0xb0x forums.

Now if I ever get my lazy ass to order my parts, I can have my DR-110 boomin' like an 808.

I got the parts to repair my Realistic MG-1 from Technology Transplants a few years ago and while the shipping was really high ($30 for a padded envelope that weighed a few ounces) and they sent me the wrong set (faders only, when I'd ordered faders and switches) they were very communicative, shipped fast, sent the missing switches out right away, and the quality of the parts is excellent.

Another thing to be aware of is that, at least in my case, they shipped from one country with a billing address in a different country and a business address in the US, which led to the first shipment being delayed a few days at customs and I had to pick it up at the post office and fill out some paperwork I've never had to fill out for anything else.
