First video; better off just using keyboard pressure and aftertouch to achieve the same thing, then you also have all ten fingers to utilise and not just one hand.
Second video; I have no idea what he's doing - playing midi drums? What's the big deal?

I still look forward to seeing someone utilise the wiimote usefully.

no big deal, was there supposed to be one? dude is using guitar hero drums to control daw sounds...there is people utilizing kinect, wacom pads, custom made midi controllers so whats the big deal in your opinion ?

i think so far all of the MIDI wiimote stuff has been somewhat of a novelty
even the wiimote theremin stuff. it's all like proof of concept.
just goes to show the potential. especially for robotic control - if robots made me feel as cool as making music does, i'd be all over that.

i did some scratching around with the code last night, there are some irritating limitations but nothing that can't be bulldozed by my sheer stubbornness

the trick is going to be getting a NOTE OFF when the infrared light blinks out.
programming is a real pain too because you're working, you experience a bug, and you think wait is this a bug or is it a potential feature? then you have to potentially code for both circumstances, making your program a LOT more complex

now imagine this happens more and more for each possible route you could take. it's like a tree. grows from 1 concept but splits and splits and splits

I can't see the point personally. I'm just waiting for nym to prove otherwise as he seems so excited.

well it's more appealing to people like things like theramins. it can be used as a nifty XY controller and other things. FL studio came with a pluggin specifically for WIImotes, and I am pretty sure it's still in the new versions.... though I cant guarantee it.
