ok need help with speakers and s950

basically i have some cr4p speakers (logitech 2300) and when i connect it through the 'mix' port to the s950 through a phono jack converter thing and the audio only comes out from the left speaker :S even with headphones

also i want to use the same speakers for my laptop so how would i go abouts doing that? i thought of buying one of these http://www.amazon.co.uk/3-5mm-Female-St ... B000Q6I1K4 which will sort the problem but how will i get audio out of my atari st and turntable too?

because you want to be able to run several devices into the same speakers.... you plug your laptop, your mpc, your s950, etc... all into the mixer to play out to your speakers.



I wouldn't recommend a cheap one because they usually are terrible. I can suggest avoiding behringer ones though because my experience with those has been bad, and most people will agree. For the low costing market maybe look into mackie, or allen & heath, and even sound craft makes some not too pricy boards these days.

i would go with the big soundcraft you posted just cause it will be useful for longer... plus I like faders over knobs for the volume.

yes it should! the bonus is that often DJ mixers come with phono preamps so if you have a turntable which 90% of them need a preamp... you are set for sampling into your mpc or other sampler also.

However dj mixers dont often have many channels and may become limited sooner for this purpose as you acquire more gear.

DJ Mixers doesn't have mono inputs so the 950s mix out will still be only on one side of the speakers.
I wouldn't recommend a DJ Mixer for this problem.
