If I program a simple drum beat in general midi, is it possible to assign each different midi note to trigger a different sample?
For example: All the bass drum midi notes trigger a kick sample, all the electric snare midi notes trigger a snare sample, and so on...
The reason why I'm aksing is because I like the simplicity of the midi piano roll view, and I find it really easy to work with.
I have Cakewalk Home Studio 9 (pretty amateur). Can most midi/audio software do this or do I need to get a specail software program?
