Yeah, its real. Copyrighting a song with your pseudonym is a great way to prove your name in court but can be limited, because your work is protected but if someone copyrighted their work long before you and registered with the same name, then in court you would lose because the date of register will show that he was first.

Here's the thought that made me register my name:

All the work I did has some good recognition in the underground, now imagine some label picks up on it and decides to use my name to create their own artist and they make millions off some wack rap. With this lifetime document I can legally prove that I'm the real McCoy and the copyrights will just be the frosting to the cake.

Ohhh ok that's wassup.

The reason i asked if its real is because i thought it could've only be done in the library of congress and not somewhere else with a third party. I even think you have to pay more than $15 in the LOC to register your name. How are these people making any gwap charging 15 bucks a piece? Unless i misread something.

I checked it out before I registered and researched and they seem legit. There were other places too charging $15 a year but this place seemed to be the honest and cheap of the bunch. But this only shows proof that I'm the original artist, and can be used in court.
But get your copyrights no matter what. I think you mean a Trademark, I'm still researching that so I'll let you know whats up later.

I'd be more inclined to register Ill-green.com and pump some coin into that instead.

I thought this was interesting...

Thats a good read. There is another site where you can register your band name in each country but sucks that you have to register to one country at a time. But different countries mean different laws.

Yeah illgreen.com sounds good to snatch as well, even my studio Murky Melody Records.

You've got a unique sound and your name is already known, so you shouldn't really need to be parting with your hard-earned for this.

I used to go under the name Sky Cycle until I discovered some hick band in Texas had the same name! I soon changed that shit!

Thanks Coz!! I try to get around but I always feel too small on the net, guess I'll just continue popping up on sites.

Did you know some dude from Turkey wanted Swamp Shoes for free? He was like just email the beat to me and take out the "**** Ill Green" parts. I said sure, for $2,000. Dude got pissed talking about he always get beats for free and that I aint Pete Rock for that kind of dough and told me to **** off. I laughed at him and told him to shut the **** up and paypal me those $2,000 dollars
