Hey Guys,

I am about to get an SP1200 at a real good price and they are hard to come by. But last night, I felt like i wanted to get Motif ES6.
I already have a 3k, 4k, and a DAW.

I am getting the SP1200 just to test it out and play with it, and get my sound have old school elements in futuristic type beats.
Do you think one would benefit from a Motif ES, considering I already have samplers? I am only interested in the bass and rhodes patches from the Motif, but I don't play as good as I want.

What do you guys think?
Sp1200 or Motif ES6.

And you are dealing with 24 year old technology with the SP.
I'd like to have one but not at the prices they are going for nowadays.

The SP 1200 is an Excellent machine!!!

Its sound and swing can not be duplicated!

Make sure you get the black re-issued model, the original grey model had some problems overheating. Also, check it out to make sure the pads & buttons don't stick too bad and the screen on it is ok.

If you can get a clean SP 1200 for a good price, go for it!

They hold their value and go all day for $1500-$2000 if they are in good condition.

Guiness, that's exactly what made a tipping point for me to want an SP1200. I wouldn't use it much, maybe on a couple of tracks, or on samples.
