Hi all, checked threads but cannot find a solution to my problem.
I have a Tascam 300GB HDD installed in a MPC1000, when I was using the Akia OS the PC would read the MPC HDD as being 300GB. When I installed the JJ OS (free version) the PC would read the MPC HDD as being 127GB.
My sample libaray has reached the 127GB and the PC wont install anymore samples to it. The MPC is reading the HDD as some 800800MB free.
No rush for answers as I am backing up the HDD and we all appreciate how slow the transfer rate is.

Thats nothing surprising and its not a bug. The mpc formats its hdd to 127gb max independently on the real size of the hdd because it can't handle bigger disks. In other words its the limit which you can't pass...
800800MB free is a nice number and you should report it to jj because it seems like a funny bug....

True....I'd put that 300gb in an enclosure and use it for something else and get a 120gb for the 1000.

Thats the answer. Thanks Marra & b.read.
Think someone got a little ripped off from their Akia service dealer but as always this forum knows more than the dealers calling themselve experts.
Thanks gang.

No problem.. ;-)
In fact they are telling the truth - the size of the hard drive is unlimited... The thing that they will not tell you is that the logical size of the drive is limited by 120gb.
But from another point of view its not so big issue - you still have a CF cards to expand your space needs... :-)
