I'm looking into some MPC 3000s, right now just on ebay. If there are any that look respectable that you guys see and would recommend I'd appreciate your experienced opinions. (I know you may be busy but if you get around to looking that'd be cool)

Also, I was looking up information about the OS for the 3000 and such and wasn't finding too much information. Any links or advice on this as well as suggestions for setups would be great. I mainly want to use it as a drum machine still.

Thank you.

Have you given up on the 60 already?

The forum is full of info on the 3000, so is Google.

Not sure where you're based, UK/US or somewhere else but ebay is always good.
Vailixi 3.50 is not particularly cheap - but its pretty much vital if you want to make the most out your 3000.
Pad sensors/pads etc. are replaceable so don't let it put you off too much as long as you're confident enough to open the unit up. It shouldnt cost too much to max out the memory if the unit doesnt have 32mb already.
The displays are dim in quite a few of these (check the forums and google). Remember the BACKLIGHT is a lot cheaper to buy than the whole display - so dont be too disheartened when you see the new LCD screens going for a fair amount of money.
In fact - worth giving http://www.mpcstuff.com/mpc603000stuff.html a look.
Finally, worth checking out http://www.mpchunter.com for offers as they come up. The 3000 LE is a beautiful looking bit of kit - but really, these go for a fair amount - and in actual performance terms a standard 3000 does the same thing.

Alright thanks.

I talked to a guy about buying his, everything seems ok with it so far but he said his version 3.11 is loaded from a floppy each time. I haven't heard of this so I was going to bring it up here to get some ideas if this is ok or not.
