Stolen I guess? 8)

Yeah somehow I didn't realize that fairly likely possibility. I had assumed the seller was just a moron.

Mike Boogie wrote:Yo Clint, I went through the same when I got my 4k. I call the guy off craigslist and he said he wanted $1150. I didn't have all the cash so he turned me down. 2 days later he called and said he'd take the $800 I had!?!?!? Dude lived in a hella shady ass area so I took my peice with me but he was hella cool and his chick was fine as fvck! Made me some sweet tea and everything! 8) He just needed the money to pay rent...

Almost the exact same thing happened to me back in November, except the original Craigslist post had the 4000 at $800. I thought I was hallucinating...I figured probably no 8 outs, which there weren't. But even after talking to the dude it just felt suspect given the price. Even when I rolled up to his spot I wasn't sure as he waved to me from his window cause the curtain was opened like 2 inches. Turned out he couldn't open the curtain more cause he was holding a baby. His girl got home just as we were closing the deal, and looked happy as hell to see money in, 4000 out. You know come to think of it over 95% of my dealings in hip hop and gear with strangers have been totally positive, which is dope because this era of hip hop going on now sure ain't about community and culture.

konc3pt that's sick you got a 1000 for a bill. I lived in the Bay for mad years, there's a lot of good used gear out there.

sweet deal man! I seen some good deals on 4k's but they usually come about when im tapped out...where in the bay did you live ? and where you at now ? you can defntly find some real cool deals in the bay, but I was doing some research on east coast cl and they got hella more deals on daily out t it's just that not too many of them is willing to ship across the country...as far as the $100 mpc 1000...dude bent two pins in the memory card reader causing the mpc to freeze crash whenever card was inserted. he told me he called one of the mpc service places and they told him he had to replace the pcb board...I bought the mpc thiking that I did have to replace it, I was just gonna do it myself which would still cost me little over $200 for black mpc 1000. I didnt learn about the two pins bent until I was already on my way home on bart when I was inspecting all around I noticed two pins touching one another.

@konc3pt

I was in the Bay from '96 - '07, SF for nine, DC for one, and a year in Oakland. Lived in like 16 different spots in the 11 years, but you know how that goes :) Good chance we might know some of the same folks. I didn't spin or produce out there (I'm a bit of a homebody) but just being a hardcore head I knew lot of cool folks out there. The Bay is my favorite place in America.

looks legit from the way it's described...

Why don't you just call all the pawn shops yourself one by one if you really want it?

it might take you only 10 minutes, maybe an hour, but still, and hour spent to get a deal like this is nothing.

keep in mind, if its not sold, while you waiting for them to reply, you might lose it to someone else who will go in the shop!
