I like GEIST myself, fxPansion are solid, they just recently gave out the Best of Guru pack as a freebie, very cool of them. I personally find Maschine quicker, but I'd imagine you're probably referring to the DAW type features (automation, filters etc.) and GEIST is definitely outpacing Maschine for those sort of thing. I mapped MIDI controllers for years when I couldn't afford actual MPC's so Maschine really works for me. Now I have all of the above and am spoiled for choice. 21st century is a hell of a thing.

Nah, I'm thinking of buying the Kore 2/Komplete 7 bundle from DV to cover the stuff I need. £450 seems like a top deal for what you get.

Is that the 303 clone? I think I had it on my old computer... I had so much shit on there I got bogged down with it all. If I had a break from the tunes for a few weeks I was getting back on it and spending half my time trying to find where certain plugins were. I can't be doing with that now I've moved to Mac.

I'm just reading through a 50+ page thread on the NI forum about Kore. They are discontinuing it, but I just want to make sure it'll be a good investment for now.

I don't think there's any alternatives for what I'm looking at. I've used Kontakt since version 1, raped Guitar Rig for fun on the regular, and dabbled with Reaktor and other NI stuff for a long time. I'd be buying for the real sounds and effects as much as the synths though.

I'm late to the party with Kore, but you can browse everything that's on Komplete through it. I can see this speeding everything up massively. :)

Agree 100% on the value of the Komplete 7 box. Worth it for Kontakt alone. It's a real shame they pulled the plug on KORE. If you already have it or register a dead stock one you buy now NI will sell you Maschine for $449USD. Of course you'd have to want Maschine and clearly many people on this forum don't  But that's totally understandable seeing how long some of you guy's have been hardware based.

Cosmic I agree Massive is excellent but it's mod matrices etc. are head spinning. I've been looking to Tone2's Gladiator 2 and ElectraX lately for those type of sounds as I find them much easier to program. People have rightfully called these 2 "unapologetically digital sounding" and it's true, but that good Virus type digital.

d16's Phosycon is another quality VST/AU TB303 emulation worth checking out.

Back to FXpansion their DCAM Synth is excellent although I've only demoed that one.

I have Tone's 2 Electra X .The presets (Some of them are awesome) i have done any of my own patches as i'm still real new to synthesis and find massive the most simple .Electra x has a patch called "I bet your virus cant do this" and it sound fkin astonishing !!!.Well worth the 1oo quid i think it was.

I have to disagree .This imo destroys machine just based on the FX section esp what you can do with the distortions on kick drum samples with removing the low freqs ,This dropped my jaw tonight and the reverbs are better than my in house 1's on my daw.

You can have 4 fx on each sample and 16 sample son a engine and 8 engines going at once its **** brilliant all differnt time signatures .

I am impressed 8)
