free jjos question ?

this might be a dumb question but im gonna ask anyway the free jjos is supposed to be free right ?? so then why is it asking me for 59$ for a password ?? its to supposed to be free right im confused ?? sorry im a newb . also when i download the free jjos i get a pop up from my laptop asking me how do i want to open this file ? wtf is going on it tells me if i want to open with file cure or or any program on my laptop but i dont know which one to choose ? please help thanks !!

If you own the 1K the free os is the 3.12 version. It's old now and quite buggy (cf recent topics on that board).

You don't open the file on your computer. Just copy it to your CF card and install it in the MPC.
