Whats up forum?

I just wanted to see how the looping in recycle works? Last night I spent hours trying to loop a sample on the MPC and got no where.

Recycle is great for splicing your loops, but if you want to edit the loop so it will repeat flawlessly I don't think this is the best choice. I may be wrong. Recycle is a splicer and catalogging program. Save to AKP format. At least that is what I use it for. If I missed something others wil pick it up.

Recycle works fine for setting loops, just zoom to the right level and adjust the left and right loop points as in any audio editor. Crop and you're done for simple loops.

The beauty of Recycle is its simplicity and focus on loops and beat slicing.

A full blown editor has lots of crap to work with, and yeah, you can get more done, but hell, even the waveform display kicks visual ass in Recycle.

Recycle is fast, but if you're dealing with complex issues you may need a full editor like Sound Forge. However, Recycle does cover most common issues in regards to chopping and looping.

Problem is, if you can loop in one medium you should be able to loop elsewhere, you just need to know how to go about doing so.

The MPC has some tricks to looping correctly, which have been discussed numerous times in depth on this forum and everywhere else.

If you can't get a loop you can't get a loop, dude.

So figure out how it's done and keep at it till you've got it!

No point in shuttling samples and things if all you're doing is setting a loop, especially since samples may act slightly differently in the context of your mix than you were anticipating and you're better off doing fine editing on your MPC or whatever sampler than on the computer.

Anyway, good luck and peace.

recycle is built for looping and chooping your sample and another cool thing about it is that you can change the pitch of the sample your trying to loop.

Can the AKP format be opened or utilized in the MPC?

Hi
I've always found looping on the mpc a little tricky so what I do at the moment is sample into the mpc
save as wav onto a zip over to the PC
then edit to a loop normalize etc.. on my PC using Soundforg, which is a nice bit of software (I think there are some nice free/share ware editors on the web not sure what they are called have a look)
then save as a wav and bring it back on to the mpc and sset it to loop in trim

I've not used Recycle yet !! but i'm hearing good things !!

Just thumbing through old posts of mine and I realize Ron made a statement here that isn't exactly accurate.

MPC can NOT use akp files. MPC Editor, however, can import akp files and map the program to the MPC pads, which is damn cool.

If you still haven't used it, check it out. www.midicase.com and follow the white rabbit, er, links till you find it.
