Using Akai Mini w/ Apple Logic

I just got a brand new Akai Mini and I'm wondering how to use it with Apple Logic. There was no sound when I tried.

The controller came with a disc that allowed you to edit the controllers. I didn't touch anything here.

Midi controllers do not make any sounds.

Think of it as a remote control for your TV/ video.

The control sends messages only, the TV/ video receives them and responds.

You will need a DAW program (Logic/ Garageband) that contains 'instruments' to trigger with your midi controller.

If you are talking about the MINIAK, it should have some sounds onboard as it's also a synth.

Thanks for the response. I've been using another MIDI for two years so I know what it is; however, the AKAI Mini did not Plug-n-Play in Logic as sucessful as it did in GarageBand.

Can someone just tell me how to get started? IT WORKS IN GarageBand, NOT IN Logic. Am I supposed to do something w/ the control editor disc that came with the controller?

this should work - plug the midi out from the mini into the midi in on your mpc. if your mpc is sending midi to logic, then any midi device you connect to it should be fine.
