Need HELP I am an IDIOT

So I have the EPS 16+ Plus and MPC 2000xl and I want to hok it up MIDI, I have the in and outs plugged into both, well I want to set it up that the MPC is the controller and recieves everything from the EPS! I'm looking in both manuals and it just confuses me, I feel like I am doing everything right. Anyone have any tips or anything it would be great...thank you!

look in the eps manual, I believe its either section 9 or 12, where it says MIDI Sync to Drum Machine, and MIDI Sync to Sequencer.

I just saw the manual yesterday for doing the same thing.
