Akai MFC-42 Orange? (for Akai MPC 2000XL SE2)???

hello,

i have the orange mpc 2000xl and i'm searching the fitting mfc-42.
i'm sure that i've seen an image with a mpc 2000xl se2 and the fitting mfc-42 in orange on it.

now is the question if there is a way to get an orange on, i can't even find that picture!

maybe one of you has a tip for me where i can get an orange one or, what would be helpful too, if someone has that photo i described on top.

then my plan will be to buy a normal mfc42, go to a painter with that picture of the orange on so that he can paint that normal mfc into a orange one

I didn't know the -42 came in orange. Good luck on your search though.

edi: Just went back as ar as mpchunter would go...april '09 and no sign of an orange mfc 42. Pretty sure if they were out there, one would've been one put up for grabs.

i'm pretty sure i've seen one. seems like it was like 3 or 4 years ago. i've seen that by searchin for mpc-pics at google. that was just coincidence that i've seen that pic because i have searched for mpc not for mfc.

but like i said, i can'T even find that photo.

it could be a selfmade-orange-mfc (painted by the owner himself), i don't know.

but as i also said, that would be my next option if i find the picture...

Maybe you can try styleflip it going to cost cheaper than painting...

I'm in the same boat...hoping to stumble upon one on eBay some day, but can't find any evidence on that model. I have the impression the photo I saw of it was from some kind of exhibition, so it could have been a demo model by Akai only. Maybe try asking them if such models were ever sold...

Good luck with that'n....you'd be hard pressed to find an employee that was up on their current product line

I dont know, I seem to remember seeing an orange one also... but it doesn't stand out enough in my memory to know for sure or even remember if it could have been a pic of someone's rig or in an akai display.

No idea if they were ever sold in yellow, I think that maybe the MFC42 wasn't actually released until July 2001, so the yellow version might have been a pre-production version made up to match the MPC2000XL-SE2 for trade shows and other marketing, and maybe never released to the public?

well, i can see WHY that was never released. talk about clashing colors. baby blue on fluorescent orange... wtf!?

they should have shelved the bacon pads on that MPC as well...

The whole setup looks...bacon. Black pads suit that machine much better.

I like my MFC in traditional Akai beige, I don't touch the blue stuff.
