Basically I paid $400 for my MPC 2500 - JJOS questions.

So I love craigslist let me tell you, some months back I found an Akai MPC 1000 for $400 that was damn near brand new. The pads had no signs of wear, the plastic was still on the LCD screen and he had the box. Last week I found someon on craigslist with an MPC 2500 for sale, I told him I was looking to sell my 1000 and then would like to make the purchase but instead he wanted to trade his MPC 2500 which I have now which is in the same condition as the 1000 I had because he needed the "room". It has the 128mb plus DVD drive - this is like the best $400 I have ever spent...but my question is regarding JJOS.

I had the free JJOS version on my 1000 and I liked the OS more then Akai's default - there were some things I did not like about the free JJOS like you could not tell it how many chops you wanted it would just chop it into 16 pieces automatically.

Is the paid version of JJOS that much better then the free - how is the chopping features? What are some noticeable things about the JJOS paid version you can notice from the start....

Thanks and I'm hoping I can now find a MPC 5000 on craigslist and sell the 2500 or make a trade from a $400 investment thats not bad at all!

that is incorrect, you can tell it how many chops you want

don't bother. get jjos2xl for your 2500, stick with it, and learn to make beats.
jjos2xl has features that the 5000 does not (vice versa too, but line those features up and you'll see which are more important)
not to mention jjos2xl has an awesomely smooth workflow

Not buying paid JJ OS for your 2500 and switching your 2500 for 5000 because you think you will get more features are two BIG mistakes....

JJ OS 3.10 is the free version.

which is good enough tbh, i made some bangers with the free version for years! was blown away when i bought xl, so many features that kick the shit out of the free version. the price is a bargain IMO
