MPC2000 and MPC2000XL LCD Screens

Envision, you had said that the screens would be LRSS than VST Service refurb retail, what gives?

VST Refurb price is @ 249.99 with screen exchange.

Well here I am, thinking I was going to get a new screen for a reasonable price...

The $365.00 ones are refurbished and are not the new ones. At least it doesn't read that way.

I had been told the price would be $179.00 by someone in the know but that may no longer be accurate.

They sell factory rebuild and refurbished. No other way to read that..... btw. Who's gonna pay 365 for a refurbished screen?

There seems to be some confusion about the LCD Screen prices.

MPCStuff.com is going to be the sole dealer for the Envision-designed LCD screens. MPCStuff.com does not yet have ANY of our screens. Any LCD screens that MPCStuff.com has for sale are probably new, old stock from AKAI before they were discontinued.

MPCStuff.com will be selling the Envision LCDs for $159, according to our agreement.

Here is an HD video of our fully functioning beta LCD screens. There is a slight issue with the right side readability which comes from how the display is mounted on the printed circuit board. This will be fixed in the production models. The "Envision" start up screen is simply for ID purposes and will not be in the production screens.

Sorry about the glare.

Also, the backlighting is white and only very slightly blue - this does not translate well on camera. The contrast is also much higher, so that the pixels are black, not dark blue.

These also have a VERY wide viewing angle - much better than any LCD that I have encountered. You're gonna love them!

That's so cool! I hope MPCstuff respect the agreement, because nowadays who wants to pay almost 400 bucks when you can buy on Ebay the MPC itself for less than $250 (I bought my 2K classic for $200 w/8 outs and maxed RAM)
Screen looks good tho... maybe I would buy one of this screens for my 2K XL that I was planning to sell as for parts...

MPCStuff has been fantastic to work with. I tried to deal with other companies early on and they wanted no part of it...which was perplexing to me.

Oh well, their loss!

And these screens are far more difficult to be reverse-engineered than the originals. To ensure our success for at least the next 5 years the LCDs are assembled and programmed in an undisclosed location in the USA.

The agreement details are secret, but I can say that we intend to sell them as long as the market requests. In other words, there will be no planned obsolescence simply to drive the cost up. I don't work like that and I won't let any of my suppliers do it, either.

We might. The best inversion comes from changing the polarizer, but it can also be done in the firmware by "flipping all the bits". The latter is cheaper...I will see if my programmer can do this and we'll put a jumper on the board for the next PCB re-spin.

Well, you'd buy the same version then make the selection yourself.

We have an 8 week lead time on the final display run - so it's at least two months away. I appreciate the patient waiting: this stuff takes a long time when done linearly. Which we have to do because we don't have a large design team or a big R&D budget.
