I searched and even when I tried to get particular I got at least 29 pages so, sorry for being lazy . Now that I'm slaving Maschine software to the MPC, I'm trying to take advantage of the VST feature . Any suggestions on what to use? Right now I'm using the Arturia V collection , Sylenth & Nexus .

I use Arturia too especially the minimoog but don't like it that much for basses. I find that the Minimogue VA is almost as good, easier to use and it's free! I like the Novation bass station for basses and the V-station as a more general synth.
Also if you look for varied kinds of sounds, try the Proteus VX, I think it's free and has quite good sounds and a lot of filters.

Angular Momentum has a free one, their free synths are very good too.

i believe it's on sale this month too $89 (reg $199)

I like CakeWalk Deminsion (works on mac) & IK Multimedia Sampletron for that vintage mellotron sound.

version I downloaded is for both PC and Mac and it's almost 3gigs worth, I think 2.7 to be exact...it's just at every startup it's looking for some ini file...instructions said to point it to contents folder, which I did. it loads up some trippy bass patch but I have yet to figure out how to change to different one

I'm waiting on a license transfer and got pissed off with the 30 minute demo, so I found this crack which works perfectly, but only in standalone.

I have pentagon which is pretty potent and can be used to make some great bass and other stuff. It's small and pretty tweakable.
