MPC 1000 Sequencer problem

Hi! I have always had this problem with my MPC 1000, i now record "live" just because i wont get the sequencer working, and this really puts limits to my work, so the problem is that the sequencer lives a life of its own, if i try to record some drums or a sample the sampler just doesnt record it the way i played it, drums come off beat or the sample doesnt appear where i triggered it, i have upgraded the Pads and the software to the newest, Not JJ OS. I dont know how to couint BPM so i usually just do this on the Trim mode - Timestretch and press Tempo so i can see the tempo of the sample, but what i meant by recording it "live" and i dont mean this on the MPC but playing the sample manually with the drums all in once over to my recording device outside the MPC, this limits my work, does anyone have a clue what it is? I really appriciate the help and hope some of you guys take the time to advice me, thanks a LOT!

Are you playing in time with the click?

are you fully familiar with how the Time Correction and Swing functions work?

Haha i feel like the biggest noob now, but no i just play after the click? i thought the click was just a countdown to when youre starting recording, could you explain the time correction and swing? or maybe give me a link or something? i would really appriciate it, ithanks for the answers guys

do you have the User's (Operator's) Manual bro?
1st of all - those "clicks" is the metronome... And as most musicians know, you must play the sounds TO THE METRONOME that SHOWS YOU THE TEMPO. You must play the pads after those 4 initial clicks, treating the metronome clicks as hi-hats.. this is your tempo, bro Maybe your metronome of OFF so you hear just the 4 countdown clicks?
2nd thing - Time Correction (T.C.) helps you out when you play the tracks which require to be precisely played (usually hi-hats and snare drums). For instance I do the kicks (base drums) with the Time Correct function OFF cuz it destroys my crazy drum timing.

Tell me do you hear those clicks even while recording a track? If yes, than play your pads to the metronome, if no, than go to your MAIN page, press F2 (CLICK), than in the section "Count in" set REC ONLY and in the section "In rec" set YES
