A Swing Question

When using swing I only ever use the percentage setting. From what I know this is the % of time after the even note that's shifted before it (or visa versa).

Question:
Is the 'Amount' parameter connected to the % or is it just another way of determining how much time is shifted to create the swing?

Answered my own question last night.
Just in case anyone else is looking for the same info:
The 'amount' and 'before/after' parameters push or pull back all the events in the track that they are applied to by the amount of cents selected.
