New to buying a mpc.

So i'm looking towards buying a new mpc but i found one that i could buy for around 350 $ all blue 2000xl mpc , it has a card reader and plug in cable . Would i need to buy anything else or any help of what i need ?

Do you have a mixer or monitors? you will need these to hear the sound from the mpc...but $350 is a very good deal.

Yeah i have monitors , some m-audios , Do i need to buy extra cables or would i need something else ? , IT has a multi card reader , 8 outs , 32mb , but the screen has some like minor lines in it but i think i could fix it.

you can hook the M-audios up to the mpc what are the connections on the back of your monitors? And the screen can be fixed but if the lines are minor i wouldnt worry to much about it.

Only way to fix the lines is replacing the LCD screen which at this moment the only one available cost $365...

Check Office Max, just try not to leave your mpc turned on for to long with out using it. Thats what causes the lines

If the display already have some lines it means it is failing and it going to start doing this all the time... til one day you barely can see what you have in there... CF or SD cards are cheap

This is a picture , so i could buy it for 395 right now , what do you guys recommend ?

For me... do not worth... buying a MPC with a failing screen means that what you are "saving" now is going to cost you the double later... because you are going to need to replace the screen anyways in the near future... and screens are expensive!

be patient... MPCs are cheaper than a couple years ago... you always going to find a good deal if you are patient... search ebay listings daily... wait and have the money to buy right away... I saw an XL with all the upgrades for $400 + shipping a couple days ago... you just need to be checking the listings all the time.

^^ listen to Loco! it might look like a great deal, but if youre going to use the MPC alot the screen will soon be just incomprehensible. new screen for 2000xl? $300? or at least $200. the way to find a good deal is frequently search - Ebay, amazon and craigslist.

Also, def get one with a CF/SD reader. doing that will save a lot of stress working with older storage media i.e. zip or floppy.

side note - SO THANKFUL FOR THIS FORUM!! the peeps are so supportive. ive been on pro audio/studio forums that i wont name and approaching a thread like this some users would be plain cold and even moderators would just say "rtfm" and not show any support, which is why people come here in the first place. yes we must all read our manuals and do our homework but being a jerk doesnt get you anywhere....well, maybe for kanye lol
