Right now i dont understand if you are talking about full songs as far as beat hook lyrics altogether or just a musical track you have created cause if its just a musical track well i just name it anything that pops in my head for the time being but if its a full song then try to round it off the main topic of the hook. But it can be any part of the hook. like jayz song "whats your name" i think thats the name of the song but if it aint and you know what song im talking about then you should get the point.

while workinh on a beat it will usually just come to me.

for example I was working on a beat that has this cool sonar sound so I called it Los Angeles class.

I usually just name my beats the same as the prominant sample I used. If I'm making a song with an artist, he always decides. Otherwise, I just listen and listen until a name hits me. I can never think of one w/o listening to the beat.

if the main sample is from Jr Walker it will name something like Walk 'it or some!!

personally - id start by naming the sampled stuff with the track - lp it was ripped from. ie: funkyd01. = funky drummer - ahem!

this way you keep all the samples in an order that can be used when you have to go back and clear the samples befor you put it out.

peas.
