the quickest way to find a pad/sound in my sequence? (2000xl

hi.

i only just got my mpc2000xl and i absolutely love it - best thing i've bought in years.

does anyone have any tips as to the quickest way to find a particular sound/pad that i've recorded in a sequence?

for example if i have a bank full of similar sounding hi hats and i want to quickly edit the pitch of one of them in my sequence (or erase one completely from the sequence) - and i don't know which one it is off the top of my head - how should i do this? is the quickest way just to look at 'STEP'?

any other tips?

i use the 1000 but i just look in grid edit mode or step edit

I'd say engage 'SOLO' on the main screen and skip through the tracks to figure out what track it's on. Then hold the GOTO button and hit the STEP >> key to move through events on that track til you find the hat note you're looking for.
